REGISTRATION: Workshops
The Greening of the Campus VIII Conference will offer a wide selection of presentations, workshops and panels open to registrants during the course of the conference.
The following “special” workshops have limited capacities and require separate registration and fees. Some of the following special workshops will be presented pre-conference; others will take place during the conference. You may register for these at the same time as your conference registration.

AASHE and the NWF Campus Ecology Program invite college and university students from the United States and Canada to attend the 2009 Student Summit. The goal of the summit is to allow students to collaborate on projects taking place on their campuses, to share best practices, to learn about new and innovative initiatives, and to give students an opportunity to develop solutions to climate change on their campuses and in their regions.

NOTE: The Student Summit is FREE to all conference registrants. However, due to limited space, conference registrants who wish to attend the Summit must register in advance through the online conference registration.
Individuals who are NOT registered for the conference may attend the Summit for a $15.00 fee. Those wishing to attend the Student Summit ONLY should CLICK HERE to register and pay for participation in this workshop.

A half-day workshop on how four institutions have produced or are producing their climate action plans and the lessons gained from their experiences. We will also cover who needs to be involved, how to engage them, and the elements of a successful process. You’ll get a close-up look at two institutions’ plans, spend time critiquing their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a framework and action steps for getting your own plan to completion.

A full-day workshop with speakers, roundtables and an annual meeting and town hall. Round table discussions will focus on the nuts and bolts of collegiate waste management, mechanisms for recording, reporting and tracking, and methods to increase advocacy. Recycling professionals from campuses across the US will be participating along with representatives from the EPA, industry, and other NGO's. The full day workshop will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 8:00am-3:00pm. A “Town Hall” meeting will follow at 3:00-4:30pm.

A half-day workshop for sustainability officers and champions at Catholic colleges and universities. Colleagues will present best practices in panel presentations. Most of the workshop will be devoted to small-group discussions and network-building.
NOTE: Formal registration is NOT required for this workshop during conference registration. Instead, sign-up will occur at Conference Check-in. Please contact Lindsey Cromwell (lcromwell@scu.edu) by September 1 if you plan to attend and/or would like to present a brief case study from your school.
